This is a first in an ongoing set of new feature updates of cool things we’re building at Share. We hope you find them interesting!
Share as a product is built around dollar-cost averaging. Instead of one-off investments when the mood strikes, or trying to time the market with large one-off buys, we think it’s easier to incrementally invest a fixed amount in one or more (preferably more) stocks on a recurring basis. However, one of the challenges we’ve observed people face setting up their first strategy is, what assets should I add? What’s the right mix? Should I focus on one sector, or mix and match?
To make this initial setup process easier, we’ve created Share Templates - a variety of pre-built investing strategies focused on different sectors or themes. Things like Developer Tools, B2B SaaS, Semiconductors, and Buffett’s Top 10.
Each Strategy Template includes historical returns for various duration, all built using our Portfolio Simulator, which simulates dollar-cost averaging on a weekly basis for any mix of assets.
The goal here is to help you get a sense of historical performance of different mixes of assets; of course, historical performance does not guarantee future returns, but we still think it’s useful1.
By providing these templates, we hope to make it easier for new investors to get started as well as provide inspiration and ideas for your own portfolio.
If you haven’t yet created your account and you want to get started on Share, grab the app at https://www.tryshare.app and use code letmein to start investing. Or if you want a personal onboarding session, grab a time here.
Thanks for reading, and any feedback is always welcome!
Templates are provided for informational purposes only and are not investment advice. Dollar cost averaging does not guarantee a profit or protect against a loss. Systematic investing involves continuous investments in securities, regardless of price-level fluctuations. There is no guarantee that any investment strategy will achieve its objectives.
I tried getting the app from the website on my iPhone, but it didn't open the app store.
So, I needed to go to app store and find it there. iPhone 12 Pro with 16.1.1 iOS. Chrome browser.
